Poverty Bay cricket A Grade competition the DJ Barry Cup takes a break tomorrow.
That will allow people to travel away if they took today off work to create a four-day weekend from yesterday's Waitangi Day public holiday.
Poverty Bay Cricket Association operations manager Nic Hendrie said the competition neededa bye weekend to enable the final to be held in March, at the same time as the B Grade's Hope Cup final.
Hope Cup games will go ahead tomorrow.
The next game in the DJ Barry Cup is between Horouta and High School Old Boys on Saturday, February 15.
