Gisborne-East Coast senior men’s and women’s representative teams do battle with old rivals Hawke’s Bay on the Bowls Napier greens this weekend.

This is an annual fixture, with the centres taking turns as hosts. Last year Gisborne-East Coast won the the clash, held on the Gisborne Bowling Club greens.

Selectors Malcolm Trowell (men) and Bobbie Beattie (women) have some new faces in their selections. Warren Gibb, Kyle Pinn and Liam Pinn are introduced to GEC senior representative play, although indoor bowls maestro Gibb played rep lawn bowls a few years ago for South Otago.

In the women’s team, Jackie Horsfall, Deborah Hancock, Marise Raklander and Erica Thompson get to show what they can do in senior rep company.

The men’s and women’s teams play two rounds of games on the first day and two more on Sunday, in different combinations of singles, pairs, triples and fours.
