BIGUNS continued their domination of the women’s A-grade softball competition with a 9-2 defeat of their closest rivals Rovers at Barry Park on Saturday.

In the women’s B-grade, Tolaga Bay Stingers (High School team) and Panthers played a marathon 3½ hour seven-innings game which Panthers won 30-28.

Unbeaten Te Aowera showed they are the team to beat with a 7-0 win against Turanga Health, Lytton beat Waikato 11-5 in a hard-fought match.

In the men’s competition, Gisborne Boys’ High school (1) were too strong for Lytton, winning 15-1.

The victory will be a boost to the school side as they prepare to face front runners Spartans and Steelers in the next two weeks.
