“THC have missed a bit of hockey lately, and no doubt they will have fire in their bellies to get out and play well tonight,” Scragg said.
“LOB A have shown some resilience lately, but that will be sorely tested tonight.
“I think THC will be too good for them.”
Amber Dental Gisborne Girls’ High School and GMC Green begin the Saturday programme at midday tomorrow, and for the students it will be the acid test of their progress.
“I think they could push the Green Machine,” Scragg said.
“You would favour the Green team to win, but I think after 70 minutes they’ll know they have earned it if they do take the points against the students.”
At 1.45pm, JNL Paikea play Te Aowera, and Paikea would be heavily favoured against a TA side who have battled bravely.
“It could become one-way traffic in Paikea’s favour tomororw,” Scragg said.
“They will look to score at every opportunity and I can see it going into double figures.”
At 3.30pm, GMC Kowhai play YMP B.
“That could be quite an even contest,” Scragg said.
“Kowhai might be slight favourites, but there won’t be much in it.”
Ben Holden Fencing Ngatapa will have their work cut out when they play unbeaten YMP A at 5.15pm.
“This will be a tough way for the girls to end the round,” said Scragg, who is co-coach of Ngatapa.
“We expect YMP to come at us strongly right from the start. But if Ngatapa can hold them early, who knows.”
The final match of this weekend’s series pits YMP B against Gisborne Boys’ High School at 7pm.
“That will be a good tussle to end the weekend’s play,” he said.
“I probably favour Boys’ High because of the form they have been showing recently.”
The students scored six times against LOB B last time out.
“I would expect a similar scoreline tomorrow evening if they can keep that shooting record going.”
