Poverty Bay

THE club holds its first winter mini tournament tomorrow.

It will be the first of six mini tournaments to be held on occasional Thursdays during winter.

Teams will play mixed triples over three games, each of six ends or one hour.

All bowling club members are invited to take part in the tournaments, which start at 12.30pm.

Players are asked to phone by midday on the day of competition to let the organiser know they will be taking part.

Dates for the mini tournaments are: May 3, May 24, June 14, July 5, July 26 and August 16.

Roll-ups will be held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during the winter season, which runs from May 14 to August 31.

All bowling club members are invited to take part. Play starts at 1.30pm. Players are asked to phone before 1pm to let the organiser know they will be there.

The first game will be of eight ends and the second, six ends. Play is expected to finish around 4pm.

Non-members of the club can join for the winter season. The $30 fee entitles winter members to unlimited use of the green from May 14 to August 31.
