Seven women were welcomed as new members by club president Jon Davies before life member Dawne Abraham played the first bowl for the first tournament as the club started its second century.
Fifty players competed in a mixed triples tournament of three one-hour games.
Two of the 16 teams hadfour players. The team of Barrie Denham (skip), Ngawai Turipa and Win Baker were the winners with nine points, 15 ends and a differential of 23.
The team of Ian Carroll (skip), Cheryl Jenkins and Diane Doyle were second with nine points, 15 ends and a differential of 14.
Jeff Davis (skip), Lesley Seymour, Kathryn Flaugere and Trish Leach were third with nine points and 14 ends.
On Sunday the club held a successful “Have a Go” day attended by over 30 people covering a wide range of ages. The club is anticipating a great season.
