Poverty Bay

Poverty Bay Bowling Club's triples tournament last week produced the closest games the club has had all season.

Ten teams each played three games of 65 minutes or eight ends in the Beetham Triples.

Two teams had three wins, 12 ends won and differentials of +8.

The winners were therefore decided on points won and, with 24, they were Lex Kennedy (skip), Robyn Arthur (director) and Win Baker (lead).

Two teams had two wins, and third place went to Marion Jones (s), Ngawai Turipa (d) and John Leahy (l), who won 13 ends.

Lesley Holmes (s), June Kinder (d) and Dusty Miller (l) were fourth, winning 12 ends.
