Ten teams contested an enjoyable Matariki “Soup and Bun” Triples Tournament at the Poverty Bay Bowling Club in sunny conditions on Saturday.

Each team played three games of 75 minutes.

Club members provided a range of delicious soups for lunch.

The tournament winners were George Vaotuua (skip), Marilyn Knowles (director) and Dusty Miller (lead), with three wins.

Five teams had two wins, and three of these won 14 ends, so second and third places were decided on differentials.

Runners-up were Bruce Ball (s), Ron Seabrook (d) and Win Baker (l), with a differential of 15.

In third place were Steve Goldsbury (s), Karen Pinn (d) and Eric Craill (l), with a differential of 13.

This tournament was a success and will be held again next year.
