Runners-up were skip Ngamiro Allen, director Ray Smith, and lead Pat Bayley. This team also had two wins (4pts) but only 14 ends won.
The '60s best-dressed woman was Nona Aston, and the '60s best-dressed man was a toss-up between Noel Dunn and the colourful flower-power hippy Tiki Yates. Dunn — decked out in his denims and leather boots — prevailed.
The lucky team draw went to George Vaotuua, Sheryl Jenkins and promising first-year player Kayaar Wimutu-Muir.
The day was enjoyed by all who took part, and the club finished off the season with a couple of life member awards — to Kevin Bright and Murray Murton — and a few cold refreshments with snacks and pizzas.
Kahutia Bowling Club's Anzac Day Tournament drew players from most of the district's bowling clubs.
Sponsored by McInnes Driver Training Ltd and honouring the service men and women who served their country, the tournament proved popular.
Players took part in a triples competition in which they played three games of 10 ends or 75 minutes. Bowling conditions were magnificent.
The winners — with three wins, 18 ends won, 42 points for and 26 against — were skip Mere Nepia of Te Karaka, director Dianne Philips and lead Neville Wagner.
Runners-up were skip Jock Smith, of Kahutia, director Norma Millar and lead Graham Atkins. They were among the many teams who won two games, but they had the best result for ends won.
Bowlers enjoyed the day and the Kahutia club would like to thank all those who took part.
