Whangara Old Girls face an uphill struggle when they play top seeds YMP in Gisborne premier netball tonight.

The Pak’nSave competition game at the YMCA starts at 6pm.

Turanga FM YMP are unbeaten this season and have been playing very well.

Whangara looked good for the first half of their game against Clayden’s Waikohu (1)on Saturday’s but errors sneaked in when they were put under pressure in the second half.

Waikohu won the game 60-43.

Whangara will need to have the whole team working together for the full hour when they meet YMP.

Horouta Koura play Character Roofing YMP (2) at 7.30pm.

Horouta had a good win when these teams met in the challenge round.

But newly promoted YMP (2) have just recorded their first win in the premier grade — a 43-23 victory over Farmlands Ngatapa last Wednesday — so their confidence will be high.

Horouta had their first win for the round a couple of weeks ago against Gisborne Girls’ High School and the players showed their understanding of each other’s play was developing well.

They will have targeted this game as a win.

Expect it to be close.
