The korora/little blue penguins that nest here have been mentioned by David Attenborough to be the smallest of all penguins.
They are beautiful to see in real life and we still have an opportunity to see them at Gisborne’s Kaiti Beach — if we can provide them with a sanctuary fenced
off from roaming dogs and a watch tower for nature lovers to sit and watch out for them in their forever home.
Unfortunately the port, forestry and their gang put a so-called sanctuary to pacify us in amongst the logs, where nobody can see or remember them.
The korora/little blue penguins are so very beautiful.
I feel we have a responsibility to protect them and I am sure Forest and Bird and many others will stand up to make it happen.
