Lytton High School founding students had a great time at their reunion in Gisborne this week.
Organiser Bernie Priestley said it was an outstanding success.
More than 30 students – described as “Originals” – who were enrolled at the school when it opened in 1961 took part in the reunion.
It started with an informal function at the RSA on Wednesday night, then continued at Lytton High the next day.
“We were welcomed by principal Wiremu Elliot and he led us to the school whare, where we were greeted with karakia,” Priestley said. “From there we went to the refurbished assembly hall, where we enjoyed an amazing performance by the school’s kapa haka group.”
