The 20th anniversary edition of Rhythm and Vines kicked off in style yesterday with 22,000 people attending the opening night.

The three-day festival returned after a two year Covid-enforced absence. much to the pleasure of thousands of festival-goers who returned to the festival's home of Gisborne.

Day one started with Kiwi alternative pop singer Blake as well as headliners DJs Chase & Status, Camelphat, Andy C and Spacey Jane.

Day 2 today will be headlined by controversial British grime rapper Dizzee Rascal.

Organisers expect 23,000 to attend today.
