Total of 17 active Covid cases in Tairāwhiti, no deaths

No Gisborne deaths have been recorded in the latest Covid-19 update from Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti, but there are 17 active cases.

That takes the total number of Tairāwhiti cases to 2561, up until midnight on Sunday.

Across the country there are 2977 active cases which includes 175 people in hospital and three in ICU.

There have been 3347 Covid deaths in total while the total number of cases is 2,467,468.

Te Whatu Ora recorded 27 Covid deaths in the week to midnight on Sunday.

Two were from Northland, eight from Auckland, three from Waikato, one from Bay of Plenty, four from Manawatu-Whanganui, one from Wellington, one from Nelson-Marlborough, four from Canterbury and three from Southern.

One was in their 20s, one was in their 40s, one was in their 50s, five were in their 60s, three were in their 70s, 12 were in their 80s and four were aged over 90.

Of these people, 14 were women and 13 were men.
