Opinion

The legacy of this most incompetent Govt of our time seems to be gathering pace as they feel their bumbling tenure may be coming to an end.

Just this past fortnight we’ve seen continued strike action from public service workers, we’ve had a Minister jump ship without any sensible reason given, we’ve had it revealed more than 50 percent of Police stations aren’t better staffed than five years ago — some worse — and of 82 truancy officers promised so far we have one. We’ve also had $4bn of borrowed money we never had “conveniently found” just in time for the Budget.

We’ve heard tens of thousands of cancer screening procedures were aborted due to the covid panic, and the mental health myth exposed where $2bn was promised with barely a cent being spent.

Societal cohesion is on edge as this Govt divides more than ever, driven by a progressive ideology with its message distributed by an increasingly compliant and indoctrinating media.

Many of those in positions of knowledge are afraid to speak out for fear of being pilloried, having their reputation tarnished, or worse losing their career.

Instead of unifying, this Govt would rather witch-hunt a few individuals, those who employ many in this country, donate to numerous social causes and, despite this Govt’s best efforts, generally keep this country’s economy going.

Tax revenue keeps climbing, driven by relative higher tax rates and rampant inflation. But we see nothing useful being constructed for this country’s future, just more pain and misery.

Perhaps most egregiously, as a nation we have been taught to forget how to parent. We have a Govt telling us they know best, they will look after us, and constantly interfering. Grant Robertson boasts as a badge of honour that 81 percent of the population have received govt handouts.

The ramifications of this nanny state are already evident, as education suffers through alarming truancy and dropout rates. This only manifests into other societal ills as these children become adults.

The tide is going out on this Govt, exposing the damage and destruction they have inflicted in its wake.
