Cedenco has started its annual sweetcorn harvest and the crop arriving at the company's plant in the industrial subdivision has been described as “really good".

General manager Carla McCulloch said they were getting good moisture and sugar levels in the super sweetcorn being picked.

“We're really pleased to be under way. It is the earliest start we've ever had to the sweetcorn season.”

Around 42,000 tonnes of corn will be harvested between now and mid-to-late April.
