There was a large yarding of 4255 sheep yarded at Matawhero yesterday, including 4034 store lambs.

Prices paid remain steady; there was a premium for shorn lambs and the better male lambs.

The average price paid fell by $8 due to the greater numbers of smaller ewe lambs offered.

Papuni Station, at the head of the Ruakituri Valley, received the best price of $149 for 35 heavy store male lambs.

Strathblane Station, trading as Eastland Farms Ltd, topped the store ewe lambs, selling a pen of 84 for $116.
