There were just 223 sheep yarded in the weekly sale at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday, including 63 prime sheep, 136 store lambs and 24 store ewes.

AS & KM Bush sold six heavy prime lambs for $101.50, while K Briant sold two heavy prime ewes for $80.

In the store pens 63 mixed sex lambs from MD Gibson, at Matawai, sold for $79.

The Darren Moroney Family Trust received $140.50 for 19 very attractive two-tooth ewes, bred on Paritu Station, in the Whareratas.

The current settled weather is offering good opportunities for optimum lamb growth.

Best prices: prime lambs: AS & KM Bush P/S, 6, $101.50; L Bond, 7, $100, 5, $81; MD Gibson, 10, $95.50; W Baty, $91.50; Jason Wi Jones, 10, $87.

Store mixed sex lambs: MD Gibson, 63, $79, 12, $70; Riverview P/S, 53, $68; K Briant, 8, $73.
