A total of 1389 sheep were yarded yesterday in the weekly Matawhero sheep sale where there was a small rise in prices paid for the 1060 store lambs.

Baytown Investments Ltd, at Māhia, were paid the best price of $110 for 40 store Wiltshire ram lambs.

The Linburn Partnership sold five prime ewes for $75 and R Teutenberg received $120 for six prime lambs.

Store ewes sold from $100 for 14 Romney two-tooths down to $31 for 31 very light, store, mixed age ewes.

Store male lambs: Baytown Investments Ltd, 40, $110; Arakihi Station, 50, $82, 208, $81.50, 206, $75, 90, $54; P Garland, 26, $80, 23, $66.

Store mixed sex lambs: Mangapoi Station Ltd, 16, $91, 90, $74, 13, $62, 133, $61; P Garland, 46, $40.

Store ewe lambs: P Garland, 32, $81.50, 54, $67; Arakihi Station, 7, $68; G Neilson, 8, $60.
