Lytton High School student Jeremy  Auckram is this year’s recipient of the Tourism Operators of Tairāwhiti Gisborne Scholarship.

The scholarship will go towards funding Jeremy’s studies at the New Zealand School of Tourism in Auckland.

He hopes to end up working on a super yacht.

The annual scholarship will continue for at least the next 20 years, it was decided following Tourism Eastland’s annual meeting.

“This demonstrates how keen our society is to support and encourage local students to recognise career choices in this exciting industry,” a Tourism Eastland statement said.
