Save the date, says Tairāwhiti Multicultural Council (TMC).

They’re talking about this Saturday, April 13, and the annual Colour Run for Diversity.

The 2.5km  run starts and finishes at Marina Park, with  a start time of 11am. Already nearly 1000 have registered their interest.

“The run is designed to promote a deeper sense of belonging within our community,” said TMC president Arish Naresh.

He says it is the only free colour run event that uses organic colour powder to ensure the waterways are not contaminated.

This year’s event attracted grant money of $15,000 from the New Zealand Community Trust.

“We’re grateful to Bar 59 and Bollywood Stars for their fundraising partnership with NZCT that made our grant possible,” said Ben Hodges,  NZCT grants, marketing and communications general manager.
