There were 1365 sheep sent for sale at the Matawhero Yards yesterday, comprising 50 prime sheep, 1004 store lambs and 266 store ewes of which 131 had been scanned in lamb.

Prime prices remained steady.

The lamb schedule rose 15 cents/kg at the beginning of this week, but with the current wet weather and market uncertainty, prices paid declined slightly, though the lambs were generally smaller this week.

Te Wera Station topped the store lambs, $127.50 being paid for a pen of 21 mixed sex lambs.

R&J Utting had 2 pens of freshly shorn ewes, in good condition with one year mouths and 100 sold for $143 and 11 for $110.
