The massive $10 million-plus Lotto win that came the way of someone who bought a ticket in Wairoa was claimed on Monday afternoon.

The winners went to Lotto HQ in Wellington to collect their winnings.

The ticket was sold at Wairoa’s New World supermarket.

The winners told Stuff they were looking forward to helping their family with the win.

There has been no word on whether or not they were a Wairoa couple, or someone passing through who bought their ticket in the town.

Lotto has remained tightlipped about that.

The couple’s prize in Saturday’s big draw was made up of $10m from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.

Two other Lotto players won $333,333 on Saturday’s live Lotto draw.
