There will be 15 Poverty Bay competitors in action next week at the North Island Dog Trial Championships on Lochinvar Station at Taupō.

They will be running a total of 17 heading dogs and 23 huntaways.

“There was still time for competitors to qualify their dogs from last weekend’s trials,” local trial spokeswoman Donna Halley said.

“The courses and sheep at Lochinvar are said to be very workable, so we should get some good points with both heads and hunts.”
