A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

The young Christchurch girl seriously injured when a log rolled on top of her at the Gisborne beachfront nearly 10 days ago has been discharged from Christchurch Hospital.

Juliana Marston, 10, suffered pelvic injuries in the incident.

Father Clint Marston told The Herald this morning she was allowed to go home from hospital on Saturday.

“Juliana’s doing well and has little pain now.

She has even taken a few steps unassisted, which is way ahead of her recovery schedule,” Mr Marston said.

“Mostly she is walking with a walking frame, crutches and using a wheelchair.”

The family were very pleased to have her home to further recover, he said.
