Gisborne surfer, musician, and now almost a pensioner, John Minogue is turning his 65th birthday into a way to raise money for the Wainui Surf Life Saving Club.
Tomorrow night everyone is invited to the Super-annuitants Music Night at the surf club from 7.30pm.
People are asked to bring a
koha for the door and can look forward to a night of live music from Gisborne bands The NGOs, Crumb Factory, Golden Rule, The Young At Work, Cross Culture and Moananui.
It's BYO food and drinks, but there will be a cash bar.
John has been a member of the club since the '80s and first took to a surfboard in 1968.
