A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

It’s yet another blow to our society and the commercial fabric of Tairawhiti.
I write to express my sympathy, empathy, gratitude and moral support to the owners of both Gisborne Herald and Evans Meats.
As a dedicated loyal customer and follower of both institutions, I am disappointed to see them withering under
the ever-changing conditions afflicting our local economy.
As a journalist and publisher myself, I hate to accept the modern state of the news industry, especially the encroachment of digital technologies and online reading trends, which have already spoiled the news media and I think robbed us of truly good, timely journalism.
As an appreciative customer of Evans Meats, where one could expect and receive fine cuts and products, it is terrible to think we are now virtually forced to settle for inferior supermarket quality.
Hats off with kind thanks to the Muir and Watson families and their employees.
