A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

I made a commitment years ago to support Rehette Stoltz if she ever decided to run for Mayor, and today I stand by the support I offered her way-back-when.

She is genuine, has a good head on her shoulders, a heart for people as well as the nous to understand what it takes for our district to thrive. She may not be “born here” but she chose this place as her home 18 or so years ago, and cares for it as much as any of us who fully love the heart, soul and culture of Te Tairawhiti. I believe she has what it takes to lead us in to the next chapter for our region.

As a friend of Rehette and on behalf of our community, I would stand by her to ensure the voices of all our people were heard, and in particular the voice of my whanau, hapu and nga iwi. Mauri ora! Kia kaha e hoa!
