A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

A two-vehicle crash at the corner of Ormond Road and Winter Street on Wednesday night resulted in five people being taken to Gisborne Hospital.

It happened at around 7.20pm.

“A car hit a ute in what was a T-bone crash,” a senior firefighter said.

“There were five people in the car and they were taken to hospital by St John ambulance for a check-up. The driver of the ute was OK.”

The senior firefighter said the car sustained substantial damage while the ute was moderately damaged.
