Early morning BoP quake registers in Gisborne

AN early morning tremor felt widely across Gisborne this morning had its epicentre in Eastern Bay of Plenty.

The 5.2 magnitude earthquake, struck at 1.44am, 10km west of Murupara at a depth of 88km.

The jolt was felt across most of the North Island, with 790 “felt it” reports submitted to the GeoNet website.
