The cruise ship season resumed yesterday after the cancellation of the Regatta’s visit with the arrival of the Silver Muse, pictured under a rainbow —  its third scheduled visit this summer.

“The weather and swell conditions were perfect,” a ship agents spokesman said.

“It had 530 passengers on board and most of them came ashore for the excursions — farm visits, wine tours, town and country drives, Eastwoodhill and cycle tours of the city.”

The ship sailed at around 6pm for Tauranga.

• Five more cruise visits are to come between now and the end of March — Seven Seas Navigator (March 6), Nautica (March 14), Heritage Adventurer (March 18) and the Noordam (March 21 and 25).
