I find the comments in the paper regarding the bars on seats being an injustice to the homeless to be complete and utter PC rubbish.

Seats are for sitting on.

I have seen one person hassling teenagers, mothers and babies, retail staff, and one time for no reason punching an old man in the face. Homeless or not, this behaviour should not be tolerated.

A retailer did befriend this person, only to have it backfire with violent behaviour for their efforts.

This is a daily occurrence that deters people from visiting the CBD. We try to make the city a safe place to visit — to suggest we make a bed for them!? Get real!

I notice the library removed the seats outside its entrance, to stop violent behaviour happening there.

These people all have a sad story behind them, but many of them choose to live this way.

If you are so concerned about the wellbeing of these individuals, feel free to step up and help. Take them home please.

I have been in retail in Gisborne for over 30 years and it saddens me to see the town being held to ransom by the actions of these people.
