Between 70-100 people are expected for a central area Alcoholics Anonymous assembly in Gisborne this weekend.

The central area covers the North Island north of Wellington and south of the Waikato.

The assembly will be at the Holy Trinity Church and the church hall in Derby Street tomorrow, starting at 8.30am for registrations.

Anyone with a desire to stop drinking alcohol is welcome to register and attend.

The day includes several meetings for individuals and families affected by alcoholism. The cost for the day is $15 which covers lunch and morning and afternoon tea.
