Police impounded a vehicle allegedly used in a “wheelie” attack on the rainbow crossing in Gladstone Road in the city centre at the weekend.
At around 8.30pm on Friday, they were told of a car doing a burnout at the crossing. That vehicle was located at a city address at2.20am on Saturday and was impounded.
Police said inquiries into the identity of the driver at the time of the incident are ongoing. An image of the vehicle doing the burnout on the crossing was provided to the Gisborne Herald.
