Opinion
Three tries at standing for council and I haven’t come very far. I did, however, get in the final word at the question time part of the Trust Tairawhiti AGM at the Waikanae surf club last night. Hallelujah LOL.
I followed on from an earlier question from new councillor ColinAlder rubbishing the value of the advisers who were supplying the trustees with their information.
I began by saying that I was a beneficiary but they . . . here I paused and made a sweeping motion at the front bench and eyeballed them all . . . were the “residual beneficiaries”, which was a reference to Colin questioning Eastland Group pay packets.
I proceeded straight on to Dr Mike Joy telling the Greens and Forest and Bird audience this week that there was no such thing as “renewable energy”, and finished by saying that I was not asking a question but making a statement: then I stated that I was of the opinion they were overweight on geothermal projects and that it would bite them. Ha ha. I then sat down and the meeting was over.
They are audited by Delloites which is the worldwide accounting firm for agenda 2030.
They were all trying to look so smart but the fact is that their main geothermal man Matt Todd was on the dodge and in my view, not a single one of them has got a clue on earth about the mechanics or finance of geothermal energy.
They freely admit it will be difficult to diversify their other main asset which is the port and is totally dependent on China.
Maybe one man can’t make a difference, but I can certainly take the piss out of these rhymers-with-bankers.
