THE Gisborne/Tairawhiti regional surf lifesaving Awards of Excellence 2021 were held on Friday. The winners were —

Frother Junior Lifeguard of the Year: Ella Whibley – Wainui; Bella Fitzharris-Stevens - Waikanae.

Lifesaving awards - Volunteer of the Year: Nigel Hope – Waikanae.

Patrol Support of the Year: Tanay Goldsbury – Waikanae.

Volunteer Lifeguard of the Year: Andrew Shelton – Waikanae.

Emerging Lifeguard of the Year: Theo Weatherley – Wainui.

Regional Lifeguard of the Year: Luke Whibley – Wainui

Patrol Captain of the Year: Adam Glenister – Wainui.

Instructor of the Year: Rodney Richards – Waikanae. ​

Beach Education Instructor of the Year: John Minogue – Wainui.

Examiner of the Year: Andrew Shelton – Waikanae.
