Isn’t hindsight great?

I have nothing but admiration for our #NZLabour Government which put Covid protections in place for New Zealanders in really tight time frames. Thousands of our peers are still here and alive as a result of those actions. We didn’t lose our health workers and our hospitals, and most rest homes weren’t overrun with death as in other countries.

There could never be a perfect response but we came through with one of the best economies and lowest job losses as well.

Aotearoa was able to continue doing most of the things we were used to doing, with the exception of very short lockdowns in comparison to other countries.

Covid was the biggest health challenge in 100 years with very little information about how the virus would behave. Communities mostly worked together and showed a unity I hadn’t seen for a long time.

Yes, there were those who felt hard done by but they were in the minority and I’d consider that they were just clueless whingers.

Then we had those who felt they needed to oppose and criticise everything, instead of bringing us together.

We’re all better off in the end, despite what the naysayers think.
