Siteworx Civil were called in yesterday to recover a dark blue 2018 Holden Captiva SUV that somehow got stuck in the sand and the tide along Centennial Marine Drive west of Pacific Street.

A digger towed the vehicle out of the water and off the beach.

A company spokesman said there were no problems with the retrieval job and the SUV was left in the carpark by the green navigation beacon.

It had been stuck in the tide overnight Thursday-Friday.

There has been no word on how it ended up there, or whether it had been stolen.
