Two concerts that showcase young musicians from Australia and New Zealand are scheduled for this month as part of the summer series at Tiromoana.
The first of the two concerts will be held on Saturday and features pianist James Guan who performs with guest artist Alex Isted on violin. Both
musicians recently graduated from London’s Royal College of Music.
Guan will play the complete set of Chopin Etudes, while Isted will perform works by Saint-Seans, Ravel and Strauss.
Sydney born pianist James Guan frequently performs solo recitals and has performed in Australia, New Zealand, China, UK, Spain and Italy. He has also performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Tait Chamber Orchestra in London, Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Having studied at the Australian National Academy of Music and The University of Western Australia, Alex Isted has appeared as extra violin with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra.
