Sweet Mix Kids are part of the big line-up for Saturday’s Summer Soundcheck at Smash Palace. Also playing are BrazilBeat Sound System, Peta Norris, Geeez and DJose.

The traditional summer kickoff at Smash Palace is back with Summer Soundcheck this Saturday.

The event features Sweet Mix Kids (SMK), BrazilBeat Sound System, Peta Norris, Geeez and DJose.

Auckland based DJ/Production duo Sweet Mix Kids (Sandon James and Chris Scott) have performed at some of the world’s top events — Rhythm & Vines, Melbourne Cup Carnival — and supported Adele, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Netsky, Flume, Coldplay, Deadmau5, Schoolboy Q, Empire Of The Sun, Marshmello, Rae Sremmurd & Martin Garrix.

In 2019 they were finalists for Best Electronic Artist at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

In 2021 SMK released their debut full-length album Radio With Pictures followed by the collaborations project Remix With Pictures including remixes from top international producers. Radio With Pictures was supported by a 12-stop NZ-wide headline tour with a full band. The duo performed live for over 100,000 people last year at shows and festivals.

2022 saw the release of their sophomore album Stargazing, supported by a remote secret location NZ launch party and a series of international listening parties. Featuring collaborators from around the world, Stargazing peaked at Number 3 on the NZ Top 20 Albums chart and Number 2 on the NZ Independent Albums chart.

Sweet Mix Kids embody versatility and taste both in the studio, where they produce the full spectrum of music, and on stage where they incorporate electronic drums and samplers, and have special guests, mixing every genre in flamboyant live performances.

This is your chance to see Sweet Mix Kids live as part of the Summer Soundcheck event and kick your summer off in style.
