Aspiring Gisborne film-makers have the chance to pitch their ideas for a short film to Rangai Studio, tomorrow.

Rangai will be producing a short film for Whānau Mārama: New Zealand International Film Festival and is hosting an event tomorrow for people to present their ideas.

They will  have up to three minutes. Proposals should include a one-page, short-pitch document for the judges.

This needs to cover logline, concept, tone and treatment.

If the project is more advanced and has an existing script, for example, a link can be provided. An additional two minutes will be provided for questions from the judges.

One proposal will be chosen to be developed and made into a short film.

Rāngai has created many short films with participants of a previous holiday programme winning best edit and best film at the Māoriland film festival last year.

“This year we will be focusing on a single story, sourced from the pitch event, and acted and filmed during the two weeks of our upcoming holiday programme,” says Rangai director Shannon Dowsing.

“We will have our best team crew members supporting the production and use the weeks between now and then for production planning and to work with the chosen pitch to finalise the script.”

RSVP on the Rangai website.

■  Short film pitch night,  Friday March 8,024, 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm, Rangai Studios, 235 Gladstone Road.
