As one of 24 actors to make the Young Shakespeare Company who will workshop and perform at London’s Globe Theatre next year, Mat Hatten is saving hard for the lifetime opportunity.

Among his fundraising initiatives is a New York Nights show next week at Evolution Theatre. Some time before he was told he was off to London with the Young Shakespeare Company, Hatten came up with the idea of the cabaret-style evening.

New York Nights also works as a fundraiser for the theatre. For this occasion though, Evolution’s artistic director Dinna Myers has other ideas.

“Dinna is letting me take koha from the door to help pay for the trip and get me to the Globe. I’m really grateful.”

This year’s theme is “holiday favourites”.
