Poor Things

Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe and Ramy Youssef star in a film adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s novel of the same name. Stone plays Bella Baxter, a young woman living in Victorian-era London. After being crudely resurrected following her suicide, Bella runs off with a debauched lawyer to embark on an odyssey of self-discovery and sexual liberation. Golden Globe Award winner for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, and Best Actress — Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Emma Stone). One of the American Film Institute’s top 10 films of 2023.

The Holdovers

A cranky history teacher at a New England boarding school is forced to stay on campus over the holidays with a handful of students  who have nowhere to go. Stars Paul Giamatti.

The Beekeeper

The Boys in the Boat

George Clooney directed and co-produced this adaptation of Daniel James Brown’s non-fiction book. The film tracks the University of Washington men’s eight rowing crew that represented the United States at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Night Swim

After a family move into a new house, they find a supernatural presence haunts the backyard swimming pool. Bryce McGuire directed the film from his own screenplay of a story he and his friend Rod Blackhurst wrote.

Paddington writer-director Paul King directed and co-wrote this origin story of Willy Wonka, a character in the Roald Dahl book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Stars Timothée Chalamet, Hugh Grant, Rowan  Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Matt Lucas and Olivia Colman.

Wish

Disney animated musical fantasy film that focuses on a 17-year-old girl, Asha, who makes a wish so powerful that it’s answered by a little ball of boundless energy called Star.

Trolls Band Together

Animated comedy with Justin Timberlake, Amy Schumer and Anna Kendrick in the voice cast.
