Born Racer: The Scott Dixon Story: Film portrait of five-time IndyCar world champion Scott Dixon, one of New Zealand’s most accomplished racing drivers, exploring the passion and dedication required to compete in one of the most dangerous sports. Directed by Bryn Evans (Hip Hop-eration).

American Animals: True story of how four friends steal from the rare books collection of Transylvania University’s library, in Lexington, Kentucky, hoping to become rich.

She Shears: Catherine Mullooly, a shearer who hails from Matawai and works in Piopio and Australia, is one of five female shearers pursuing their passion to compete at the highest levels. Directed by Jack Nicol.

Stray: A young man on parole and a woman just out of a psychiatric facility meet and form a relationship while trying to repair their lives, with South Island mountains as backdrop. Directed by Dustin Feneley.

Bohemian Rhapsody: Film tells the story of British rock band Queen, focusing on lead singer Freddie Mercury, up to the Live Aid performance at Wembley in 1985. Wide praise for Rami Malek as Mercury.

Charming: Animated musical comedy in which a prince is cursed with the ability to instantly inspire infatuation in every woman until his 21st birthday, when all the love in the world will disappear. To break the spell he must find true love.

Hunter Killer: Gerard Butler plays a US submarine commander caught up in an international incident when the Russian president is taken prisoner by rebel elements of his own government out to start a war. Also stars Gary Oldman.

A Star is Born: The fourth remake of a 1937 film has drawn critical and popular acclaim for Lady Gaga and director, co-producer and co-star Bradley Cooper.

King of Thieves: Michael Caine, Michael Gambon, Ray Winstone, Tom Courtenay and Jim Broadbent star in fact-based story of ageing criminals coming together to stage the Hatton Garden diamond heist.

Halloween: A sequel to the 1978 film of the same name. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers respectively, as Myers returns to finish off Strode for escaping his original killing spree.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween: Goosebumps author R. L. Stine (Jack Black) helps two boys out to foil plans by Slappy the Dummy to bring all his ghoulish friends back to life and start his own family.
