Tairāwhiti's favourite cosmic, psychedelic surf rock group is back with a new single.
Oceanspace have transformed their live performance of Gypsy With a Mortgage at Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival last year from fleeting to formed as a digital single to be enjoyed forevermore.
The recording was mastered by band memberNathan Seaver.
“This song started out with a riff that our bandmate Seaver wrote when he was 12,” Oceanspace vocalist Emma Moore said.
“We jammed it heaps and kept calling it Gypsy With a Mortgage. The name really inspired me to write a poem about this so-called gypsy, which quickly morphed into one of my favourite songs to perform.”
