The annual Full Moon Party returns to Smash Palace this Saturday, January 27.

Bringing the community together with local DJs and performers, this very special event has been held in Gisborne every summer since 2017.

The outdoor/indoor event features music and visual projections on two stages and performance in a third outdoor area.

The DJ line-up includes Brazilbeat Sound System, Peta Norris, Dizfunk, Geeez and DJose. Musical styles centre around electronic music — bass music, house, drum ‘n bass and techno, with live percussion presented by Brazilbeat.

Complementing the music with a dazzling performance will be Tairāwhiti Fire Tribe, featuring fire dancing with poi, staff, fire fingers and other incendiary implements.

Professional face and body painting will be free for attendees from 8-10pm, and folks are encouraged to arrive early. White clothes are recommended to “glow” in the specialised UV lighting.

Tickets are available from fullmoonparty24.eventbrite.co.nz.
