More than 80 singers from various Gisborne choirs came together in 2015 to open the War Memorial Theatre with a performance of Karl Jenkins’ modern mass to peace, The Armed Man.
Now, Jenkins wants to repeat the exercise but on an epic scale in Berlin in November.
To mark the
centenary of the end of the First World War, the composer will conduct a 3000+ choir made up of singers from around the world.
Held in Berlin’s massive Mercedes-Benz Arena the choir will be accompanied by the World Orchestra for Peace. If singers who performed in the 2015, Gisborne concert are interested in taking up this extraordinary opportunity, please contact markpeters@xtra.co.nz.
