See Juve for the perfect Christmas stocking filler, or the ultimate indulgence.

See Juve for the perfect Christmas stocking filler, or the ultimate indulgence.

We all know the saying about the child in the candy store. Well, that’s what it was like visiting Juve’s Christmas one-stop skin and beauty shop. My head was on a swivel, gazing at the beautiful array of skin products, makeup, jewellery, gift boxes and womens-wear.

Gifts start from $15 and are priced to suit all budgets — from stocking-filler lip balms, bath soaks, body scrubs, makeup brushes and cosmetic pouches to kaftans, boho bags, sunshades, pamper packs and a gorgeous selection of earrings and chains.

Juve’s girlie gift boxes are flying out the door.

“They are full of wee surprises like jewellery, Bonbon products, a fluffy unicorn key ring, makeup brushes and sweets,” says

Juve owner and Paramedical Skin Therapist Sally Wright. Some of the more distinctive gifts include jade skin rollers to aid lymphatic drainage; wooden cordless USB-charged fragrance diffusers; and luxurious Douce Nuit silk and cotton pillowcases which help to combat sleep creases and hair frizz issues.

Bonbon products are vegan, made in Whakatane and fantastic gifts for girls of all ages.

In accordance with Juve’s philosophy and mission statement, the emphasis is on products that not only help you look and feel great but are healthy to use and kind to the environment, says Sally.

“We strive to stock products that we know will perform and are as healthy and ethically-sourced as possible.

“For example, we avoid nail varnish with known endocrine disruptors, stocking the excellent Faby range instead.”

“Our SunSmart sunscreens are a good example of this. We stock sun-care products that have reflective ingredients and are healthy for the skin, unlike some creams that contain excess chemicals increasing free-radical damage to the skin.”

I loved Juve’s Sol coffee cups made from recyclable, hand-blown, chemical-free glass.

These factors were noted by judges of the Westpac Business Awards in which Juve was placed first in the Retail and Trade category, says Sally.

Juve is Gisborne’s exclusive stockist of Environ Skin Care which this year won a prestigious international award for the top medical skincare range in the world.

Pioneered by founder, scientific director and acclaimed plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandes, Environ products are prescribed by skin specialists worldwide.

Jane Iredale is another of Juve’s exclusive favourite brands.

“The range is 95 percent mineral as opposed to some makeup that claims to be mineral but only contains 5 percent.

“The D2O hydration spray is great to refresh or set makeup as it’s rich in essential oils and locks in moisture for a dewy glow.”

Award-winning Iredale products are ethically-sourced and made, animal cruelty-free and have ECOCERT certification.

There’s also a vegan range.

All gifts are beautifully wrapped and boxed.

“We are excited to be opening an online shop which will make gift-buying even easier,” says Sally.

If you still simply can’t decide, you can always give a Juve gift voucher . . . every woman’s dream.
