Upcoming Wellington artist Rei’s latest single All We Got is tuned as a drum and bass cum kapa haka and pop mash that will send music lovers straight back to the vibe of their favourite festival.

Following up on this summer’s DnB te reo hit Te Whakapono ft. Huia, Rei is releasing this anthem-like banger, All We Got and can be seen performing at eight venues: Rotorua, Wellington, Tauranga, Waitakere, Auckland, Waiheke, Lyttleton, and Queenstown.

Co-produced by talented NZ artist Mikeyy, Rei dances between his dual languages in this new drop. The single is released fresh from Rei’s new album ARIKI which was released last December — a full te reo album that breaks the mould of Māori music.

ARIKI has had singles firmly placed in the top 10 te reo Māori airplay for most weeks of last year and in the NZ Hot Albums charts.

The musician is the next generation of Aotearoa bilingual artists fusing international sounds and setting his sights firmly on taking New Zealand’s  unique culture to the world and making some bangers on the way.

Rei (Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Pākeha) originally hails from Wellington, but is currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. His music seamlessly bridges multiple genres, in particular, urban and electronic.

He released multiple genres in 2021, since he produces his own music and works alongside award-winning engineer Chris Chetland of Kog Studio.

The last 12 months have also seen Rei win two new Māori music awards for his album Enjoy the Ride, and smashing festivals around Aotearoa, including his main stage set at Splore 2023, performing to a sold-out crowd.

His live sets bridge English and te reo Māori, and urban, pop and dance. He has been heard on most airwaves throughout Aotearoa.

The upcoming Matariki tour will be showcasing fresh dance remixes featuring collaborations with local and international producers.

Last year Rei ticked off his goal of playing in America by performing at a Coachella pre-party in Palm Springs, as well as the famous Dive Motel in Nashville.

He also travelled to Portugal to represent NZ at the World Music Summit WOMEX.

Next month he heads for Canada for another music adventure.

His other recent accolades include being a finalist for the 2021 Mana Reo award at the AMAs, as well as achieving a top-five spot for the Apra Silver Scrolls with his Maisey Rika collab Hiwa i te Rangi.
