Next week auditions are open for She Kills Monsters, a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy adventure story by Qui Nguyen.

Director Dinna Myers is looking for anyone aged 16 to 35, of all ethnicities, to play a variety of roles. All experience levels and ages are welcome.

The show is billed as a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, with more ‘90s references than you can shake a D20 at.

She Kills Monsters tells the story of high school teacher Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger and weirder sister Tilly.

When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she decides to try out the game that kept her sister so occupied and falls into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure.

As she delves deeper into her quest, the fantasy world and reality begin to collide as Agnes searches to connect with Tilly and realises how much of her sister she never knew.

Audition tips from Evolution Theatre:

' Arrive 5-10 minutes before the audition.

' Wear shoes that allow for fluid movement and will not make excessive noise on stage.

' Select monologues that showcase your talent and provide a variety of emotion.

' A physical and vocal warm-up before an audition can make all the difference.

' Practise your greeting and introduction, and remember to breathe and smile.

' Have a copy of your headshot and resume available.

She Kills Monsters auditions, Saturday, August 7, 11am, Evolution Theatre Company, 75 Disraeli Street. Rehearsals start from September 14. Performance between December 2 and 12.
